Airbus has delivered the 1,000th set of A350 XWB wings from its Broughton facility in North Wales. Each wing measures 32 metres from root to tip and is one of the largest single pieces of carbon-fibre composite ever built for commercial aviation. The A350 family has now logged more than two million flight hours since its entry into service in 2015, and remains one of the most fuel-efficient long-haul airliners flying today. The milestone was marked with a brief ceremony at the Broughton plant, which supports around 6,000 aerospace jobs in the region.
